Every woman wants to look as attractive as possible, this is why we have become very conscious of unwanted body and facial hair. Waxing has become a popular method of getting rid of unwanted hair because of it’s speed and effectiveness.
Waxing became popular because it offered a quick way to remove hair that would last for a substantial length of time. Although waxing does have it’s benefits, it also has drawbacks, yet it remains very popular because it is still the most expedient way to be rid of unwanted hair.
There are, however, quite a number of myths associated with waxing that should be discussed. I now want to address the top 5 waxing kit myths that seem to be overlooked and ignored the most.
Myth 1: Pain free is definitely a myth. Although waxing is a speedy process, it is not painless. Remember its speedy because you are removing numerous hairs at one time, from the roots, which can cause a severe stinging sensation.
Myth2: Having a smooth and hairless area is also a myth. Hair grows in different stages so there is really no way to remove all the hair at one time. This doesn’t mean that waxing is not working it just means that there are some hairs that will be growing in after waxing.
Myth3: Results vary so don’t always expect to be hair free for 6 to 8 weeks. This also goes back to hair growing at different rates. Also consider some people have a higher metabolism which means fast hair growth.
Myth 4: No irritation is definitely a myth. You are placing a hot substance on your skin, which can cause a slight burn. Also consider ripping the strips off and pulling the hair brings blood to the surface of the skin causing redness.
Myth 5: You will not have to do hair removal as often is not realistic because of the different stages of hair growth. Not to mention people vary in their metabolisms, so some people might not have to remove hair as often because their hair doesn’t grow as quickly while others have higher metabolisms meaning they grow hair very quickly.
There is a benefit to the waxing method, besides the speed, over time it will deaden the hair follicle which will stop that follicle from producing so over time the amount of overall hair to be removed will lessen.
